A self-confessed alpha male, Adam’s brash and confident demeanour hides a deep thinking philosopher, even if most of his “philosophies” only make sense to himself. Unimpressed by Jonathan upon their initial meeting, Adam takes it upon himself to turn Jonathan into the man he needs to be to survive in “his” world.
She deals with people like a hammer would a nail. Laser-focused and completely driven towards her end goal. Anyone standing in her way finds themselves ducking for cover or getting run down. Still, she has a deep-rooted need to solve others problems, born from a childhood tragedy she keeps buried within herself.
A foreign exchange student, Cheng’s strong work ethic betrays his laid back demeanour. He prefers to sit back and observe people in the house, only chiming in when it’s absolutely necessary. While he speaks English, he’s happy to let people assume his understanding of English is minimal, a way of hiding within plain sight.
Never too busy to help someone else, Damien often forgets to look after himself in the pursuit of helping others. A gifted actor, he’s been earmarked for big things, and with that comes expectations that can become a burden. With his long-time girlfriend Candice also an aspiring actress, he tries to downplay himself to stop their already fragile relationship from breaking.
Passionate and soulful, Candice has only ever dreamt of having her name in lights. Her mood fluctuates with every success or crushing failure, a constant burden on her relationship with Damien who is seen as a bright prospect while her star fades. She’s wanted it for so long, she can’t bring herself to find joy in anything else.
Angry and alone, Sam feels abandoned by his parents, forced to fend for himself. Feeling like the world is against him, he keeps himself closed off, preferring to let others open themselves up to him first. Too often though when they do he’ll use what they tell him to take advantage as a way of pushing them away before they can get too close.
Smooth talking with a cool demeanour, it takes a lot to phase Levi, and that’s how he likes it. The less people see what he’s really thinking the better. A former member of the household, he was forced to leave when his relationship with Laura fell apart. The split left him feeling like he was forced out, bitter, not that he would allow any of them to know it.
The wise owl who guides Jonathan, his philosophy class having a profound effect on Jonathan, challenging him to think of the world in a different way. It’s his words and the lessons Jonathan learns while attending his class that guide Jonathan through the chaos of everyday life, helping him to make decisions that will set him on the “right” path.
